A walk through history – Exploring five centuries of architecture
The tour will start by tram from Vienna City Hall along the magnificent Ringstrasse boulevard to the opera house, where we will visit the Karlsplatz passageway, a newly renovated underpass connected to the most frequented underground station in Austria. As we walk along Kärtnerstrasse to the heart of Vienna (Stephansplatz) we will see a pedestrian area that was renewed 5 years ago. Then we will visit some newly designed hotspots, i.e. Bognergasse with its new surface, the Ferstl-passageway and Herrengasse – an area with architectural examples from 5 centuries. Before we return to the City Hall we will visit the 14th floor of the oldest high-rise building of Vienna (“Hochhaus Herrengasse”) from where we can enjoy a beautiful view of the city.
