Changing your mode: Walking and public transport
During this tour we will be travelling by tram, which will take us to the former marketplace Johann Nepomuk-Berger-Platz in the district of Ottakring. At this junction, where three tram lines cross, the participants can get in touch with equipment and quality factors for pedestrians at public transport stations. The next stop will be the newly designed, user-friendly Westbahnhof railway station, a redesigned hub for trains, trams, regional busses and subway lines. Information on surface design, control systems, as well as access routes to subway lines will be discussed. At the station Volkstheater, the participants will learn interesting facts about the configuration of the station, the quality of transfer paths and the integration of the station into the surrounding area.
