Green pedestrian walkways in densely populated areas
The walk will take place in two built-up districts with a dense network of roads and some green pedestrian walking routes – the 8th and 9th districts of Vienna. Both districts are home to many young people, and many cultural events, popular venues and well-known buildings are located there. In particular in the 9th district some considerable height differences have to be overcome – we will visit a good practice example of a staircase (Thurnstiege). The scheduled walk will show examples of green footpath connections (e.g. “Altes AKH”, public space courtyard) and different versions of accessibility and design for all.
