Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana
Tjaša Ficko studied communicology at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. She completed her final year of studies at the Complutense University of Madrid and was then employed as a special consultant in the public relations office at Mercator. Tjaša Ficko then completed a Master’s management programme at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana.
In 2004 Tjaša Ficko graduated from Instituto Cervantes and in 2008 she became a certified supervisor at the Slovenian Directors’ Association. She worked for Zoran Janković’s campaign to be elected Mayor of the City of Ljubljana. After his victory in the 2006 local elections, Tjaša Ficko was entrusted with the leadership of the Section for Public Relations in the Mayor’s cabinet.
As Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana, Tjaša Ficko believes that her city is being revived at last, is developing successfully and that in the coming years the city will definitively shape and reinforce its brand and take its place on the map of the most successful European and world capitals.
